Just across the Channel, Le Verger is a lovingly restored old house, wonderfully Gallic in atmosphere yet incredibly easy to get to. It is located in the Seven Valleys region of the Nord Pas de Calais, an hour from the ferry port and 40 minutes inland from the chic shops of Le Touquet.

Family Holidays

Wambercourt is a very safe and friendly village and so it’s a great place to come with children. Le Verger has a large field behind it (all visible from the house), which is excellent for outdoor games, sunbathing, reading and al fresco lunches. The house has a library of books, a ping-pong table and several bikes. The surrounding countryside has some impressive routes for cycling and walking.

There is a beach at Le Touquet (45 minutes’ drive) for swimming in the summer and a variety of sports at other times of the year. There is also a waterslide and the Denlys Park, amusement park at Dennebroecqe is a 20-minute drive away.

The house is fully equipped for self-catering (including full indoor and outdoor barbeque equipment) and there are a number of excellent local food markets selling fresh local produce, which are fun to visit and shop in. There are also a number of local restaurants who welcome children.
